Permanent Makeup FAQ

Before you book
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe it as light scratching rather than pain. Numbing cream is applied before we begin and reapplied during the session — it is included in every permanent makeup service, never an add-on.
What if I do not like it?
Nothing permanent happens until you say so. Your brows are measured, mapped and drawn on first, and we do not start until you have looked in the mirror and approved the shape.
Clients mention this unprompted in their reviews. The mapping is the appointment — the tattooing is what happens once you are happy.
Is permanent makeup actually permanent?
No — it is semi-permanent. Microblading softens over about a year. Ombré powder brows, nano hair strokes, combo brows and lip shading last roughly two to three years after the initial touch-up.
It fades gradually and gets lighter over time, rather than staying sharp and then disappearing.
Which technique should I choose?
Book whichever appeals to you and we will confirm or redirect it during your consultation, at no charge. As a starting point: Microblading is the most natural, hair-by-hair look and suits normal to dry skin. Ombré Powder Brows give a soft, makeup-like gradient and hold up best on oily skin. Nano Combo Brows put strokes at the front and powder through the body. Special Ombré Powder Brows are our signature hybrid — fine strokes at the front with velvet shading through the body and tail. Nano Hair Strokes are the most realistic, machine-only with no blade, and the most detailed work we do.
If you are not sure you want a tattoo at all, start with Eyebrow Lamination & Tint & Wax. It lasts about four weeks and commits you to nothing.
I have oily skin. Does that rule anything out?
It rules out microblading as the best choice, not as an option. Fine strokes tend to blur on oily skin, so Ombré Powder Brows or Nano Combo Brows usually heal sharper and last longer.
Is there anyone you cannot treat?
You must be 18 or over. That is Georgia state law, not a studio preference — permanent makeup is tattooing, and O.C.G.A. § 16-5-71 allows no exception for parental consent.
Beyond that, the studio follows the Georgia Department of Public Health screening standard for body art. We will ask you to wait, or to get your physician’s sign-off first, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if the screening flags something like a bleeding or clotting disorder, blood-thinning medication, an allergy to pigments or anesthetics, a skin condition or active infection in the treatment area, a history of keloid scarring, or a condition or medication that delays healing.
None of that is a decision made on the day. You complete the screening before your appointment, and if anything on it changes the plan we tell you in advance.
Can you fix or cover permanent makeup someone else did?
Often, yes — but Aylin has to see it first. How much can be done depends on how dark the existing pigment is, what colour it has faded to, and how much of it there is; some work needs fading or removal before anything can go over it, and promising a result from a photo would not be honest.
So the first step is a Cover-Up Consultation, which you can book online like any other appointment. Aylin assesses the existing pigment in person and tells you what is achievable, how many sessions it would take, and what it would cost. The consultation fee is credited toward your procedure if you go ahead, and she books the correction herself once you have both agreed a plan.

Is there anything I should avoid beforehand?
For 24 hours before your appointment, avoid alcohol and try to go easy on caffeine — both thin the blood and make the skin bleed more, which pushes pigment back out as it is worked in.
For about 72 hours, stop fish oil, vitamin E and other blood-thinning supplements. Do not stop prescribed medication for this; tell us about it on your health screening instead and we will plan around it.
For two weeks, avoid retinol, Retin-A, acids and exfoliating products on the area, and avoid waxing, threading, tinting, peels, lasers, microneedling or Botox near the brows. Come with no sunburn and no active breakout in the area.

Can I bring someone with me?
No. This is a single private studio suite with no waiting area, and the work needs a still, quiet room — mapping a brow is measurement, and it is done with your face relaxed rather than talking.
Do I need a consultation first?
No. The consultation is the first part of your appointment and it is included in the price. If you would rather talk something through before committing, call or text the studio.
Booking, price and payment
How far ahead do I need to book?
At least two days. You can book up to three months ahead online, and you will see live availability rather than a request form.
Do you take walk-ins?
No. This is a single-artist private studio with no reception, so every visit is booked in advance.
Do you require a deposit?
No. You pay at the studio once your appointment is finished. Nothing is taken to hold your slot.

Touch-ups are priced separately and are not discounted. Payment is taken at the studio.
Is the touch-up included in that price?
No — the initial touch-up is booked and priced separately. It is strongly recommended: the longevity figures above are measured from the touch-up, not from your first session.
How do I pay?
By card at the studio, in person, when your appointment is finished.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes, and you can do it yourself. Every confirmation email and text carries a private link to your appointment, where you can change the date, time or service, or cancel — no phone call needed.
Why do I need to confirm my appointment?
Two days before your visit you get a text and an email with a confirm button. One artist, one chair: knowing you are coming means the slot is not held empty for someone who is not.
The appointment
How long will I be there?
Between one and two and a half hours depending on the service — the table above gives the time for each. That includes your consultation, mapping, numbing and the procedure itself.
Who will be doing my brows?
Aylin, every time. There is no second artist and no assistant — every appointment from consultation to finish is performed by her.
Is this licensed and sanitary?
Yes, and both are checkable. Aylin holds a Georgia Department of Public Health body art practitioner certification, and the studio holds a Georgia body art studio permit — both numbers are published on the About page.
Needles are single-use, and their lot numbers are recorded on your file along with the exact pigment mix used, so your colour can be reproduced at your touch-up rather than guessed at.
Should I eat beforehand?
Yes — try to eat within about four hours of your appointment. Arriving on an empty stomach can leave you lightheaded partway through a two-hour procedure.
Where is the studio?
A private suite inside the Sola complex on Whitlock Avenue in Marietta. The full address, a map link and the studio hours are in the footer of every page.
After your visit
What is the downtime?
You can go back to work the same day. Your brows look noticeably darker and sharper for the first few days, then soften as they heal.
How long does healing take?
About four to six weeks. The colour softens over that time and some strokes may fade unevenly as the skin renews. That is normal, and it is exactly what the touch-up is for.
When do I book my touch-up?
Four to six weeks after your first session. It perfects the shape, fills anything that healed light, and locks in the colour.
What is the aftercare?
The full instructions are published on this site — the same sheet you take home and that arrives with your signed consent copy by email. It has been through a Georgia Department of Public Health review.
Will I need anything after the first year?
An annual refresh keeps healed permanent brows crisp and even. You do not have to remember it — the studio texts you when you are due.
